Quality buys at a steal
It’s time to ditch the mind-set that higher prices reflect higher quality – great products can be affordable too. And here’s how Guardian ensures that its easy-on-the-wallet house brand products are exceedingly safe, high-quality and offer excellent value.
When it comes to taking care of your health and beauty, Guardian is the go-to destination for a wide variety of affordable products to meet your everyday needs.
And with house brands gaining popularity and earning consumers’ trust in the past decade, Guardian recognises the need of quality assurance to preserve consumers’ trust in their brand by ensuring that each and every of its product boasts the best quality.
Hence, the household name has been adopting a “3 Steps to Quality” Corporate Brand Quality Management System, implemented by Guardian to ensure only the best quality for all their products.
The first step to quality assurance is Supplier Management. In this first stage, the Quality Assurance Manager conducts risk assessment to determine the quality assurance control measurement required for a supplier to fulfil the preliminary criteria. An external professional audit firm is appointed to conduct an audit following Dairy Farm’s strict standards. Only suppliers that pass the factory audit conducted by the third-party professional can be listed as qualified suppliers. Alternatively, suppliers who have been certified with internationally recognised global audit standards are also reviewed for acceptance as Corporate Brand suppliers.
Following this is the Product Management stage. Here, the development of products and packaging materials are professionally developed and strictly sealed. All developed products are put through a stability test to evaluate their physical and chemical integrity. Upon passing the stability test, the product will be further tested by an assigned third-party professional to ensure that the quality and safety levels of the product meet the regulatory and quality requirements set in place by Guardian’s parent company, Dairy Farm. Guardian’s niche hero products are put through an additional consumer sensory test, conducted to ensure that the products meet the needs of the customers.
The last step in the 3 Steps to Quality Assurance is Surveillance Management to monitor product compliance along shelf life. In this stage, depending on the product risk level, suppliers are, at fixed frequencies, audited by an external professional. The overall performance of the supplier is evaluated based on a Technical Score Card. Suppliers that fail to meet our standards or have potential hazards detected are put through improvement measures. Based on the product category and risk level, routine product tests will be conducted once or twice a year by an external laboratory to ensure that the quality and safety standards of certain products remain consistent.
The above three practices ensure that all products comply with Guardian’s quality, safety, and regulatory excellence standards, so you can use each Guardian product with a peace of mind!
